We continue to recognize the dedication of our amazing volunteer attorneys who consistently help low income clients at our monthly CLA-LA Phone Conference Legal Aid Clinics and support other endeavors. This month we are featuring David “Dae Kyun” Lee in our CLA-LA Volunteer Attorney Spotlight!
David majored in philosophy at UCLA and received his J.D. from Trinity Law School. He is fluent in Korean and began his legal career working at a large firm assisting both multinational Korean corporations and Korean clients navigate the complexities of international law.
In January of 2022, David was led by God to open his own law firm helping non-English speaking Korean clients in consumer legal issues. Called by God to be a voice for the voiceless, David’s law firm is called “Proverbs 31:8 Law.” David strives to hold himself to the highest standards and as a man of faith, he lives by the biblical principles to “Seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly.”
David says his experience as a volunteer attorney with CLA-LA has been very meaningful because he is able to tangibly help people who really have no other avenue for assistance and for too many, CLA-LA is their last resort and hope. David feels like he is living out his purpose in life when he can infuse some hope and practical assistance to help low income clients. Additionally, he says it’s such a blessing to showcase God’s love and care. David loves how each client consultation ends with prayer.
David’s dream is to use the revenue from his firm to establish a Christian entertainment center like an alcohol-free, biblically themed Dave and Buster’s and eventually a Christian theme park like a biblically themed Disneyland with no admission price.
